Artsy Fartsy

This week was drawing class for Pippy. Below is a tractor:
Below she is drawing 'fish'.

Below is a lion.

We got out an infant proof paint project for Brynn.
She liked it, although it only lasted about 30 seconds.

Read a thought provoking statistic recently - something like 95% of kids say they are 'good at drawing' at age 4....by age 10 only about 15% still believe they are 'good at drawing'.

  2. That is one tough looking tractor. And I like the fish legs! :-) Clever idea on the infant paint thing.

I read an article about that statistic too. About how kids are robbed of their creative confidence at a very young age. I wonder if it has always been like that, or if we are programming our kids for specialization more now a days. Like pushing a kid into what he is best at and discouraging what he is only passable at. Very thought provoking.
