Wayne's hike to Griswald Lake

Wayne hiked up to Griswald lake earlier this month and took a few pictures. The trail up to Griswald lake is the closest one to our house, but one of the toughest trails in the Rubies.

Camping at Thomas Campground

We had a fun weekend camping trip in Lamoille Canyon this past weekend. Penelope spent lots of time playing with her friends Audrey and Ella and we shared the meals and planning with Audrey's family and her Papa and Grannie.

Penelope and Audrey had so much fun together!
They love water!

Boise Ironman 70.3

We went to Boise for Wayne to do an Ironman 70.3. Our usual pals, Todd & Dini were there too with their fifth-wheel, so they have been taking wonderful care of us!
In the morning getting ready.

Apparently these are the cool kids.

We told Wayne and Todd to flex and show us their best pose, so they turned around and flexed their calves and....other muscles. Whoever said girls are the only ones who get silly and giddy clearly have never seen these guys before a race.
Helping dad get ready the day before
My brush with fame!!! This is Apolo Ohno...Remember him? At the Vancouver Olympics he did well at speed skating. Apparently his current endeavor is to do the Ironman in Kona, so he came to Boise to qualify for the Kona race.

Lots of waiting and cheering

Pippy cheering in the Ironman shirt daddy got her.

After the race with Todd & Dini

My overall impression of the race is that I would rather be in childbirth in a desert with  no drugs than have to run an Ironman. Very impressed with Wayne, Todd, the man with one leg, the man who looked like he weighed 350 pounds, the man who overcame Leukemia, and all the other athletes that successfully completed the race. By the time the race was finished, I was waddling and hobbling around the park, just like everyone else.

Camping Fun

We spent the evening with Audree and her family at their campsite in Lamoille Canyon.
CHEEEESEEE!!

I've been feeling the urge to take lots of pictures to make up for the upcoming months of neglection. I have a feeling that Pip will have a picture gap in her childhood from 3 to 4 years old. It'll be like, poof! she's gone, and returns a year later at 4. Hopefully with a full head of hair!!

Anyway, this was just impromptu grilled chicken Ceasar salad dinner with Todd and Dini last Sunday evening. Pip just grabbed Dini's hand and asked her to go see the neighbor's baby goats. Off they went!

They brought their drone...a helicopter thing that carries a video camera. You have a remote that controls it.

"Muddy Puddles" on the Salt Flats

Bonneville Salt Flats, UT
Penelope was super excited jump in huge, warm 'muddy puddles' during a break from driving in the car. I was super excited to see a bathroom, and have her jump in 'muddy puddles' that weren't actually muddy.

Photos from my phone

There may come a day when I give in and buy a phone that can take decent picures and is not 4 years old. Sorry, today is not that day...

I'm not sure how to add captions to the pics from the phone either...but the one picture is (obviously) pippy snarfing a ice cream. The rest were from taking a walk/bike ride. The brown blur in the trees is a small moose we keep seeing. I think I'm going to name him, since we've seen him so much. I'm thinking he will be either Nigel or Rupert. What do you think?
