The girls ran in the Swiss Days race again this year.

Pippy and Brynn competed in a race at Swiss Days in Midway. We weren't sure how they would react...but they both seemed to have a blast!

Boise Ironman 70.3

We went to Boise for Wayne to do an Ironman 70.3. Our usual pals, Todd & Dini were there too with their fifth-wheel, so they have been taking wonderful care of us!

We told Wayne and Todd to flex and show us their best pose, so they turned around and flexed their calves and....other muscles. Whoever said girls are the only ones who get silly and giddy clearly have never seen these guys before a race.

My brush with fame!!! This is Apolo Ohno...Remember him? At the Vancouver Olympics he did well at speed skating. Apparently his current endeavor is to do the Ironman in Kona, so he came to Boise to qualify for the Kona race.

My overall impression of the race is that I would rather be in childbirth in a desert with  no drugs than have to run an Ironman. Very impressed with Wayne, Todd, the man with one leg, the man who looked like he weighed 350 pounds, the man who overcame Leukemia, and all the other athletes that successfully completed the race. By the time the race was finished, I was waddling and hobbling around the park, just like everyone else.

Family Turkey Trot 5k

Everyone got out for a 5K Thanksgiving morning!

Wayne of course blasted us....about 25 minutes. Then he came back and ran the rest of us in. With Joanna here.

Philip did the honors of pushing the stroller, which was much appreciated. This way I could actually run on my own and did 35:15.

Triathlon at Lake Meade

We went south this past weekend for Wayne's triathlon at Lake Meade. We got up early and drove to the race. 

First, you put your dashing triathlon suit and trendy swim cap.

Then into the lake. You can see Wayne about 1/3 from the left.

 When they finish the swim, they run up the lane to the bikes. Most people are pulling shoes on and wetsuits off while running. I didn't get any pictures of Wayne until the finish, because every time I would see him I would get excited and cheer and tell Penelope where daddy was, forgetting about the camera.

Luckily Dini our friend (and real life photographer) got one:

 The bikes were lined up here and people got all of their biking stuff on for the bike part. This man we will call Ripped Rocket Guy. Wayne wants a helmet like Ripped Rocket Guy. Please, please tell him he can get ripped but he does not need the rocket helmet to be a better triathlete. I think it is horrid looking.

Valentine 5K

Today we Wayne did the Valentine 5K in Lamoille. I was pretty excited about it until I woke up this morning and wimped out. Lamoille is a quaint tiny town near us. The race started and ended at the Little Church of the Crossroads. I have seen quite a few churches - mostly in Europe - but this little church is definitely the cutest.

This picture is for my mom - the guy running in 'barefoot' shoes. He wore some Hawaiian swim trunks to complete his outfit. Very cute. (Also, he beat Wayne!! So we got a laugh out of it - I mean were VERY impressed Mom!.)

 And typical Lamoille - a trailer came through the race with two saddled quarter horses in the back.

 It was about 20 degrees out, but nice and sunshine-y. Penelope slept most of the time in her stroller.
